About the Cypress and Carnation Motifs
The cypress motif is a familiar botanical form in traditional Turkish and Ottoman art, recognized for its graceful, upright silhouette.
The cypress at the center gives the composition a strong vertical axis, while the surrounding carnation motifs bring life and elegance to the plate.
Red carnations, green leaves, cobalt blue flowers and turquoise details create a balanced palette that reflects the rich botanical world of traditional Iznik ceramics.
A Lively Balance of Turquoise, Red and Cobalt
At the heart of the composition, the turquoise cypress forms the plate's most striking feature, while the surrounding red carnations bring warmth and visual movement.
Cobalt blue flowers and vivid green leaves stand out against white, revealing the detail in every part of the pattern.
Vivid yet balanced colors make the plate an eye-catching artwork in both traditional and modern interiors.
Every Iznik Ceramic Piece Is Unique
Each Iznik ceramic piece is as individual as a fingerprint. Even when the same pattern is recreated, the artisan's brushstrokes, color transitions, glaze texture and firing process make every piece different.
The piece you are viewing has its own balance of pattern, color and handwork, making it a unique work of art in its own right.
Small variations from the handcrafting process are a natural part of the individual character of authentic Iznik ceramics.
