PLEASE READ CAREFULLY.
The product has many glaze cracks. When hung on the wall, these cracks are not noticeable from a distance of 2 meters. The product you ordered is completely handmade Iznik ceramic. As you know, ceramics are covered with glaze.
The glaze on ceramics can crack, and this is natural for Iznik ceramics. Even the Iznik tiles inside the historical Selimiye Mosque have glaze cracks. A glaze crack is not a defect.
SHAHDAR; (Cracks in Ceramics)
"Şahdar" is an Ottoman Turkish word meaning branched or twig-like. In ceramic works, cracks in the glaze (glass melt) caused by humidity and moisture are called Şahdar. Every ceramic piece may develop Şahdar eventually. Some may appear in a few days, while others may take centuries. This is like the wrinkles that appear on our skin as we age. Ottoman artists, who attached different meanings to each motif and color they worked on, also associated Şahdar with the idea that "Just as the human skin wrinkles with age, the ceramic also 'Şahdars'."
